After a few months and tons of research we are done with our coop/run. We were trying to come up with a sign for it...and well, my brother in law and I are avid "The Hateful Eight" movie fans so I spun the idea of tweaking the name "Minnie's Haberdashery" from the movie into hatcherdashery . The no dogs sign is also from the movie of course LOL.

Wow!! Now that's a nice coop, I wish I had the space for one like it. I'm in the process of designing mine at the moment, course I've gone the whole chicken thing backwards and started up a batch of eggs without a place to put the chickens, but I figure I have some time since I have some rather large, empty aquariums I'm purposing as the brooders and only have 8 eggs incubating lol.

Thx  a few more pics during the whole process...we used UV proof polycarb clear panels for the roofing from Lowes. Our Australorp, Charlotte is in the one pic. She liked to watch it being built....the nosey one of the flock LOL.

Thx again! We got peeps at the end of March and soon started building while they were in brooder. We planned on having chickens the year b4. We spent time during the winter coming up with ideas from stuff on line and in mags, books, etc. to make everything fit in the space we had in mind. We worked on this on days off and at night after work for about 4 months...way too long lol!

Good, i am not the only one taking a long time to finish!

I thought it was absolutely adorable until I saw one thing that really made me sad.
Mis nietas son Mexicanas y no encuentro humor en el letrero.
So hurtful and so unnecessary in such a peaceful happy little place. :(
Otherwise, the coop and run are beautiful.
(Not looking for any response here...just perhaps some thinking.)
