My chicks have been loving the mint I've been giving them recently. They'll see it and start pacing the fence in their little brooder! They'll be go and live in their coop in a week or two since they turned five weeks the other day, so I've been really being through with the herbs lately! They've always had herbs since I got them, but now they're finally summing up the courage to eat some! They're also finding a new liking for the Rosemary I think... :)

Mine like the asparagus and beet tops that grow in my yard. I have to be careful because the asparagus (too much) will change the taste of their eggs. Are you giving your babies Grit Too??
Yes, I'm giving them grit. I actually think they really like it lol. My old hens loved beet tops as well, but I had no idea that they could eat asparagus!

No she WAS supposed to be a Orph NOT! Lol. I looked on line then asked BYC folk. I can up with a Red Star everyone else said Red Sexlink which Red Star is a common mic name for I liked Red Star better after allot just sounds better lol. She’s a great little hen she started laying real young 16 weeks. Great LITTLE brown eggs one a day for 7 days in a row now! My little Star LOL

Asparagus is NOT one of their favorites they peck at anything seems like if one pecks at it they ALL peck. Sometimes they just fixate on things, weird.....

Mine have had asparagus before, they ate it all but I’m not sure they loved it like they love watermelon and corn on the cob. I really want to try putting some dry lavender in their coop to spruce up the smell, lol! It’s not too bad, but it could be better!
