miserable due to Heat Stress? a cool water bath helps!
Our chickens were becoming miserable due to heat stress in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
We give our chickens a quick bath in cool or tepid water on hot nights, and even some days. If they are panting with their mouths open, this quick, brief dunking really cools them off for several hours!
Our hens also benefit from a fan that blows air on them at night.

Six hens, one rooster.

when it gets to hot here i take pop bottles and fill with water and freeze them. then i stick them in the chicken and rabbit runs on side with lid on. if they r to hot they can drink the cold sweat on the bottles or lay against them to kool off and it will last all day usually to keep them kool. takes forever for the ice to melt. it works wonders and should help last longer see if that would help ya also.

I put a bag of ice in a tub or dishpan and set it front of the fan. That creates a nice cool breeze. With 46 chickens, I need the cool bath!

I used to dunk Slifer in a wading pool...they seem to loose a ton of heat through their feet. so that helped some too.
Mike used to run with Obelisk through the sprinkler.

I use damp paper towels on Obelisk's feet and head.
I've done the frozen water bottles, ice packs too...
