What are the chances that a chicken's first egg is fertile?

I bought Mr. Jingles and Miss Muffin as a breeding pair. Miss Muffin was only 4 months old when I got her and Mr. Jingles was 6 months old.

I've been waiting for the day that Miss Muffin would start laying and she did... today! I got my very first buff silkie egg from my own chickens!

Now.... Mr. Jingles is hormone driven!! My husband says there is no doubt in his mind that this first egg will be fertile. What do you guys think? Should I try to incubate it? My family says "yes".

I don't think there's any harm in incubating it... you'll have to let us know how it turns out!

It's going in the bator tomorrow along with some mille fleur d'uccle eggs. I'll keep you updated.
