I have 5 Araucanas I have had for about a month and just got 5 Pearl White Leghorns today. The Leghorns look good and have laid 3 eggs today already (i was very surprised since the others lay about once a week, but that was why I got the Leghorns so Im excited!), but I notice one of the Leghorns when I was handling them is missing the feathers on its underside from a little in front of the legs all the way up to the bas of its tail, about a 1 1/2 inch wide strip, and its skin looks pretty raw. I am completely new to raising chickens and wondered if this is something normal or some kind of injury, or possibly something I can treat with some type of medicine for them? Also wondering if it it some form of sickness if the other chickens are in danger?
Can anyone offer some insight on this?
