my girls came from a factory of hens and were very bashed up, their friendly now and none of them are aggressive towards each other, even the leader has never really hurt any of them. Their still missing feathers from the factory and I'm just wondering if I should put something on it???

also I can't obtain blue kote stuff in my area but is "true blue" the same sort of thing? it worked on our sheep and horses

I may not be able to help much, but how long have you had them? Sometime feathers can take a long time to come back in. Check a couple of things first:
1) diet, They probably need a high protein diet to help them grow back their feathers faster.
2) Make sure they don't have mites or lice. You can treat both of these, but mites and lice like the base of feathers and can keep them bare if not treated.
3) Separate the roo. While he may be good to them, he may be over-mounting when you are not around, so that you can't really tell how much is him and how much feather loss might be other factors.
4) Make sure they aren't pecking each other. Give them some cabbage heads or something else to peck on so the temptation is not there to peck each other.
5) Are they laying which makes growing back feathers harder for them? Could they be in some type of artificial moult? Has the light changed on them drastically in the last few weeks?

Just some of my thoughts. Good luck.

Looks like former feather picking. They take a LONG time to come back in. We put duct tape over Rita's about a year ago. Only now are the feathers coming back in.
