Hello!

We have a happy group of 8 chickens, 4 light sussexes and 4 crosses! The 4 crosses are let out of their pen as they know the garden very well. They've been let out for a few months now and no problems at all. I went down to shut them in their house yesterday night and only one was in its coop. It didn't look distressed or upset, it was just alone! This one was sort of the outcast of the group. We looked around the whole garden and the neighbours garden to see if they were roosting, no luck. There were no feathers or any sign of a struggle at all. I was home all day so I would've heard something. They are the three tamest of them all, they come when their names are called. We went down our local lane and our local farm, calling, and nothing happened. We've put the last cross into the pen with the other Light Sussees and she's getting along fine, she's not upset or distressed.
Any ideas where they could've got too?

Thanks! :)

Greetings. Sorry to hear about your missing birds. I don't want to be a doomsayer, but unless they are hiding I think the chances are above average that a predator got them. I'd closely re-examine the area for sign. Sure hope you find them okay. :)
