Missing hen

Okay so I went to the coop to shut up the coop and one of the hens weren't their, she has not been laying eggs in the coop and she also disappears a few times a day. Do u think she is sitting or a predator got her.

I would do a good walk around of your property/ any place she could be. It could be either of the above. I've had both happen to me. One time we didn't even know a hen was missing until we found some dead chicks, and went to look to see where they were coming from and found a hen with 12 babies under her, two of them had just gotten out from the nest, and sadly for them didn't make it.

But, if she comes out during the day, she may not be sitting, they usually won't get off their nests. So I'm not sure what to tell you.

Either way you need to make sure to find some traces of her, either to make sure she's safe and move her to a safe location, or if a predator did get her, make sure her body is exposed so none other come.

It's 11 so I'll have to wait till tommorow, if she shows up then I'll follow her back.
