I'm not but I visited there this past summer for a week and loved the rolling hills. I also saw an Amish town and went to a barn party and ate hog nuts...yep that took some convincing and a few wine coolers but I did it. The deep fried Morell mushrooms were awesome. I asked everyone I met what the "Show Me State" means or why is it called that and nobody knew. Do you?

I am in SW MO, about 30 miles N. of Springfield. Anyone close? What area of MO are you from, Droopy?

I'm in northeast Mo, about 30 mins north of Troy.

They call it the Show Me State because of all the tourism here. Branson, MO is one of the hottest vacation spots in the world.

I've only passed through Missouri. Not sure if we stopped anywhere, don't really remember.
I forget where I live though

I've seen commercials on tv for branson, but it doesn't really look worth a trip to me.

You must be right on the KS or OK line, if you are 60 miles W. of Springfield. Joplin area? What kind of chickens do you have? I have 3 Marans, 3 leghorns, a few EE's, 4 Gold and 4 Silver laced Wyandottes, 5 Silkies, 5 bantam cochins. What a mess, right? LOL
