Found out my broody hen and her eggs where covered in what i think are mites, they are a very dark reddy Brown, more brown.

Are they Northern Mites. Or the dreaded Red Mites? they are on the broody and when you pick her up they run onto you. They are fairly fast ( bit slower than an ant ) but don't fly or jump form what I can see.

I want to know how to treat this as well?

Hopefully this will answer you:

Sometimes people find that two treatments ten days apart do not completely resolve the problem, even with a thorough coop cleaning each time. If you can find it, both liquid and dusting powder forms of Sevin may help. You can paint the liquid on places like wall cracks and the underside of roosts. Good luck!

Thanks heaps.
Have you read it yourself, if so would you recommend the garbage bag idea? I have a large flock and it usually take ages to treat them all individually so I am looking out for fast ways to treat them!
