Mite transfer

Hi all

I'm new to the forum and have been keeping my six hens for two years now. I didn't have a major mite problem last year but this year I've noticed some and have started to deal with them.

However, to my question, I've done the chickens this morning, let them out, removed their droppings from the coop and come back into the house and have noticed that I have mites on my shorts and crawling on me! Can they infest my house? or will they just bugger off?

Chicken mites can't live on humans. Generally washing your clothes and showering will get rid of them.
