Hey guys, I’m concerned with seeing mites (small black dots) moving across my chicken’s skin. Other than being able to visually see the mites, my chicken has no other symptoms that are associated with mites.

She eats, drinks, runs around and lays eggs like a regular chicken and takes dust baths everyday that it isn’t raining.

I’ve had this situation occur consistently over the course of 2 years without any problems.

Are what I’m seeing actually mites? Should I be concerned with this? And are dust baths supposed to get rid of all mites? Thanks 😅

Tractor Suppy is closed Today for Easter Sunday.
Tomorrow, clean your coop out. Mix this up and spray your coop down making sure to spray the creases too. Allow it to dry.
Then treat your chickens too. Spray it under the wings, under carriage, back side too. It goes a long way so no need to soak your flock. In one week, do it again.
If they are in a run, do it too.
This stuff is Fantastic and rid your girls of those blood sucking mites.
With Spring in the air, you'll need to be diligent for about 3 weeks depending how bad your infestation is.
Apply and massage a good coat of Vaseline on their legs, comb and wattles too. This helps get those nasty mites from the leg and toe scales.
They are a Pain but You can get rid of them.
You can also purchase "ready mix" but it costs more. Plus, you'll need it again always.
Good luck! You'll do fine. We all know they are gross!
OH! DE doesn't work well at all.
Don't waste your money if your serious about getting rid of those pests.
