Mites? Feather pecking? Normal molting?

My flock is just over a year old and they are all starting to lose patches of feathers on their backs, necks, and butts. I assumed most of it was normal molting, but then I noticed this on one of my EEs, below her vent. Could this be caused by mites? Feather picking? It looks like a big scab. This is my first year with chickens, but scabs like this seem abnormal during molting.

In the photo, that looks like feather picking. I'd apply some NuStock cream to the tissue to help it heal and hopefully deter some picking as well.

Do you have a rooster? Often loss of feathers on the back can be due to mating. Possible its another hen mounting and/or plucking out feathers. Do you have photos of the other hens?

What do you feed?
