Mites or Rooster Damage?

I have some hens that have had missing feathers on their backs for a while. The Wyandottes have had the bare back since there was 1 rooster and 9 hens.

They do not over-preen, there are no mite eggs, no mites visible, they aren't lethargic, and they are still laying eggs (though one is broody, so she isn't).

We now have alot more hens. And I have not seen the Wyandottes being harassed in a while. Will that help them grow the feathers back? I live in Texas, so the sun is extreme, which is my assumption as to why their skin is red.

My Maran who has a rough back. No, that is not her dandruff or mites on her back. She is broody and chose the nest that gets all the dirt and feather casings from the second floor in the coop. Alot of young chickens growing in big kid feathers.

The Wyandotte with the worst back issues. Looks like roo damage and sun burn to me. I have tried to give them saddles but they always find a way to work them off.

Her back is not as bad as the other girl. She does not keep saddles on either.

This girl has no issues now, she had the same issues not too long ago but grew her feathers back quick.

I don’t think it’s mites if you haven’t seen any because they usually affect the feathers around the vent as far as I know, so it could definitely be roo damage. I would recommend using a healing spray. I had a spray that went on purple to descourage pecking and it had antibiotics, it was for wounds but worked to help feathers grow back to, or at least to make sure they didn’t get pecked at as much. If there’s anything else I might be able to help with let me know.

Will that help with their sun burn? Can the feathers grow back when their skin is sun burnt?

Im not sure if it would help her stop getting sunburn as there’s not spf but I imagine the cool would feel nice on her skin, and I’m not sure if having sunburn affects the feathers growing back or not
