All,
I just brought home a hen and a few chicks. I have been seeing some jumpy-crawlies with the litter and wondering what could be done about this. I've cleaned the litter and was just wondering if keeping this changed daily keeps them from becoming an infestation or do chicks need a dust bath also. I've been noticing some itching and just put two and two together; didn't itch until a few days after bringing them home.

Any thoughts?

Mites...They are annoying. Especially when they're on your babys!

Whenever mites appear on my Roos (The mites never seem to like the hens

) I take them straight to a bathtub of Apple Cider Vinegar and they are usually gone within 24 hours. It definitely wont leave your Hen and babys smelling nice but it works.

Thanks, Mustang! I wonder if misting the local environment with ACV will help with those not currently on the babies?
