Mites

I think I have a mite problem. My birds are loosing feathers and are having trouble walking. I treated them with a dust bath os sand diamatecious earth laced with Sevin Dust but have seen no improvement. What do I do?

Have you check near their vents and under their wings for mites? If you can identify the mute, it’s easier to treat. I am new to quail but I have raised chickens, guineas, and turkeys, and all my mite problems have been solved with either a frontline spray or seven dust. If you can’t see any mites on their bodies, check their roosts at night. Their are some mites that hide in the wood of the roosts and feast on the birds at night. The only solution I know for sure gets rid of them is throwing the roosts out. If seven dust doesn’t work, I highly recommend the frontline spray.
