I am fostering the chickens that typically are housed at my son's school, due to the COVID19 shutdowns. Upon closer examination, they are infested with mites! They are clustered at the base of the feathers, especially around the vent and lower stomach. They are a very light tan color, and run fairly quickly if I try and catch them. They're a little larger than a poppy seed. What is the best and fastest way to get rid of them without harming the chickens?? We are in a significant shutdown in my area due to COVID19, so I'm limited to what I have access to, but I need to do something for them. Their feathers look almost like they're moth-eaten in places. I can try and get photos to add to this post if that helps. Suggestions? I did call my local vet, but they said they can't sell me anything because they have never seen the animal, and when I asked if I can bring one of the chickens in, they said no, they're not licensed to treat chickens
