Mites?

I went out to give my chickens so treats after returning from a long vacation sat down and noticed bugs crawling on me they looked like a tinier version of feas almost?

Id noticed feather lost but thought it was molting, or my roosters we being too rough and ive always have feather issues on my hens since Ive had rooster but this time it seemed much much worse.

Im about to shower cause I had them all over my feet and hands but I didnt see any evidence on the actual birds I have a few photos from the ones on me

If they are mites how do I treat them and keep them away from my other birds? I have ducks currently maybe 10 feet from my chickens run. And how do I treat the run?

I feel like such a bad chicken owner this is the first time ive ever had this happen and not only that but Ive had so many other firsts this year

They happen, it's OK.
Get some permethrine based spray or powder, clean hour coop out completely, burn the litter, treat the coop and the birds and get all new bedding and litter.

To get that spray I'd probably have to have it delivered to me since I live if a pretty rural area. Should I wait til I have it to treat them? I have diatomaceous earth should I give them some of this til I get the spray?

I also have like 20 ish chickens alone, how do I treat that many? Just spray the hell out of the chickens?

They sell it at a feed store or garden supply, look for Garden Dust.
Just dust or spray them, dust is easier, you can pour it in a sock and Bop them.
D.e will not help mites and will complicate breathing for you and them.

Thanks! Google said otherwise which is why I always come here to fact check. Had no idea! Will get it and treat them asap thank you so much was honestly panicked so bad.
