Miss Prissy, why after dark? The thing that I don't understand is I never touched anything chicken related ( food, water or bedding.)tonight. Just closed the door. John
 
After dark because they are whitish to clear colored and you can't see them in day light very well. In the shadows of dark you can see them moving on the chickens skin.

If the chicken wasn't on the table and you hadn't been with the chickens then it might not be chicken lice. When someone with chickens says little white bug the first thing that flags is chicken lice.

I would still check them for lice just to be sure.
