Name is Tony, I just went with the basic template to make it easy. Heads up, I do ramble and sometimes my post gets quite lengthy. Sorry when that happens.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I think we stay new to chickens until we get to "years" under our wings. 1 full year July
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
40
(3) What breeds do you have?
Very mixed. 15 different breeds. We like variety

Buff Orpingtons and a Black English Orpington, Silkies, Houdan, Cochin Bantam and Barred, Phoenix, Seabrights, Cinnamon Queens, Hamburgs, Polish, Turkens, Wyandotte, Buff Brahma, D'Uccas, Welsummer, and Zombies.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I live in the country so it's quiet. I can sit there and watch the individual personalities that they have. The differt greetings a rooster has or the tall Polish acting all tweaking.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Bowling and taking pictures and videos of the chickens.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 3 dogs, 2 old and 1 pup that we are raising to be a chicken dog. 2 outside cats that actually hang with the chickens. 1 of them took after a hawk after it pounced on my gorgeous polish hen, little late, but that hawk did not get it's lunch. We have 2 inside cats that want to be outside until they actually get there.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
At the start of owning chickens we had a 3 month old get sick, I searched Google. I would always end up here. I like looking at different breeds and learning every thing I can about whatever concerns chickens. This is a family project. The wife, daughter, and I do most of this as a team.
