Hi
I'm almost done building my coop and will be looking to purchase my chickens soon.
Stupid me decided to get family involved in picking what chickens to get and come up with a list that I think will all get along.
Had to make a couple of changes to what some had chosen as on paper they could become bullie due to the docileness of the others.
I realise that it all depends on several factors but on paper do you think this list would work as a flock together? Should I just concentrate on two of 4 breeds or is it OK to get single chickens?
This is the list as it stands at the moment.
2x silkies one white one black
2x polish
1x Sussex white
1x tuftibelle (pref lavender)
1x salmon faverolle
1 buff Orpington

All will be approx 15 to 16 weeks old pullets and hopefully if I can get the timing right with the breeder will all come at the same time which will help with integration hopefully.

Any guidance appreciated
Thank you in advance.

If not why? What would make a better addition?

Polish, silkies and faverolles are fairly docile breeds. Those should be okay together. It does depend on the breeding and how well the birds can see. The others may or may not be fine. It can depend on the individuals personality. As long as there's enough room it should be okay. If you are planning on a smaller set up you may want to stick with the three breeds, or pick other more docile breeds.

I agree with @oldhenlikesdogs to maybe stick to those three breeds to start out with. I can only speak for silkies in case you branch out with other breeds in that you should have at least five of those then. They will stick together and less likely to get picked on.

We have a mixed flock and they get along fine. We started out with 6 ex commercial laying Hylines then added pullets and then 3 older pullets a few months later. We were down to 3 Hylines and then bought 2 Polish, 2 Welsummer crosses, 1 Wyandotte cross, 2 Barnevelder and a Barnevelder cross that ended up being a cockeral. They sorted out their pecking order before we introduced them to the older Hylines. A few months later we added 3 more Barnevelders and after a few weeks they've settled down as well. They've got plenty of places to get away from each other plus plenty of room to scratch around. The only issue I saw was having 2 Polish with a big rooster. Didn't seem fair on the girls.
