I have a pen with several hatched each about 3 weeks apart. The first are beginning to sing “the laying song”. What is the best way to make sure my layer is getting what she needs. Would be adding a second feeder with layer pellets work and leave the original with starter crumble?

They should be on grower or finisher at this point in age.
You can provide maintenance ration if all are above 14 weeks, (18%), with a free choice side of oyster shell. If you have a rooster or growing birds layer feed will harm them.

This ^^, I feed starter/grower 20%, a lot of people on here never feed layer. Just have a container of oyster shell. The layers will eat it as needed, the others will leave it alone.
