I have a pair of breeding turkeys and next month I'll be getting ten 8 week old turkeys. Can they live together happily?

By the time I get them it'll be passed the last frost date. How cold can they handle? If they can't handle the temps I'll put them in a brooder for a month until it's really hot out. But again, can I add them to the older turkeys?

I have found if you throw the young ones (or new ones) in with the older ones they usually get injured or killed. Instead I put them in a dog kennel that is inside their coop. A large cage would also work. They stay in this at least one week if they are larger poults. This does two things. It teaches them where they need to go to sleep. It also gets the older ones a chance to get to think they are part of the flock.
