Mixing breeds separate or not

Hi all,

Not mixing breeds for breeding just for housing. Beginner question, I have a RIR roo and a Cochin roo. The RIR has his own flock. So I was thinking about getting my Cochin a few girlfriends of his own..all the others ignore him. Curious, will the RIR roo try to rule over them or will he beat up and try to mate with them? Do I need to consider separate housing for each? OR...could they "possibly" all get along...I know, I can hope can't I!!! I have a feeling I know the answer but any advice, stories, etc, are greatly appreciated.

People house different breeds together all the time. The question will be how the roos do. One of them will be the dominant roo.
