I introduced our new 1 week old chicks to my 4 week old salmon favorelle over the weekend. I've been doing it slowly, really watching for any aggression on the part of Sabine, the fav. She's been wonderful and patient, so tonight I decided to let her stay in with them instead of being with the other 4 week olds (which are roos and getting sold).
I looked in on them and couldn't believe my eyes! Sabine was fluffed up in the sandbox and the littles were crowded all around her. Her chest looked particularly fluffy. Then I noticed a little fluffy butt stickng out. I got a quick video.....
