Hi I have 2 baby 10 day old chicks that I bought from a back yard chicken owner. She only had the two.
There were not vaccinated. I have them on medicated feed right now.
I plan to buy some more to fill out the brood, but they may be from a source that vaccinates them.
A friend is buying 12 from a hatchery that vaccinates all, and I'm wondering if I can mix the two in the same brood?
Can those that were vaccinated eat the medicated food, and if I need them separated, how long do the non vaccinated ones need to be on the special medicated feed, before they can join the others on the non medicated?
Also, is it ok to keep chicks of different ages in the same brood, providing the vaccination is not an issue.
Mine are 10 days old, and what if I add some that are 14 or 15 or 2 or 3 days???

Newby here sorry if this is a silly question. I'm thinking that the older ones may "pick on" the younger ones... any experience here to share?

thanks so much, and have a great day!

yes you can mix the chicks. what we're they vaccinated for.? if for coccidosis I don't think they eat the medicated feed. other vaccines are fine for medicated feed. I have mine together with a age difference but at first you can expect some bullying. mine stopped bullying after awhile. except with one bird.. I wish you the very best of luck!
