Hello, new here and looking for some help.
My first attempt at hatching did not go well. It was determined my eggs were possibly handled roughly in postal care since so many were broke on arrival...out of 15 eggs only one had a full baby chick inside and it was dead...so now i have 13 that went in my hovabator on the 26th of Oct. tomorrow i should receive another dozen tomorrow and thursday another dozen...
My question....How do I mixed dates of hatch in the same incubator?
I have auto egg turner and i just figured i would take them all out of turner on day 18 of the first batch and then hand turn the others until their hatch date. I tried to get them all to arrive on the same day but alas that did not happen...
Will the temp of the newly received eggs have any bearing on the ones alreadyin the incubation process...help please...any suggestions are greatly appreciated:)

Hi Aguirre, Welcome to BYC!!

It's very difficult to hatch chicks set on different dates in the same bator. On day 18 you have to stop turning and also increase the humidity. Either of these factors, if implemented too early, can kill the unhatched chicks. Most people who have chicks set on different dates in their incubators have a separate hatcher that has no turner and has higher humidity. Then, on day 18 for any particular set of eggs, they can be placed in the hatcher and it won't effect the other eggs.

If you have other questions don't hesitate to ask - there are tons of people on here with lots of hatching experience that can answer almost any question you can come up with!!!

Best of luck with your eggs.

I agree with what Skeeter is telling you...most people that do staggered incubation have a hatcher set up that their 18 day old eggs can be put into...on the last 3 days you need your humidity up and that is going to kill your other eggs you have put in......day 1 to 18 your humidity should be around 40 to 50...day 18 you need it 70 to 75....

31-26=5

18-5=13

You have till the 13th to get your second bator.

ok...I found the incubators at the site i originally purchased my package from...what difference does the fan make on the hova bator brand incubator...it is about a 35 dollar difference...is it much better to have the one with the fan for circulation, that is the one i currently have but would like the less expensive one if it will do...whatcha think?
