I've been wondering about mixing chicks I have hatched from eggs with hatchery chicks from the feed store.

I know all the hatchery chicks get misted with vaccine and the eggs get injected with something as well.

Is any of that live virus/antibodies? meaning is it safe for unvaccinated chicks I hatched to be mixed with the vaccinated ones?

What should be avoided in general, etc.

I'm no expert but I wouldn't mix chicks of different ages, but if they are the same age, I wouldn't think that would be a problem. Seems to me the chicks that are vaccinated couldn't pick up anything or pass anything to the others. I fed my chicks medicated food, so I figure that would do. Mine were hatchery chicks but not vaccinated. Next time though I'll have them vaccinated.

My concern was that hatchery chicks have been vaccinated
So wondering if a live virus is used in the vaccine
I had heard someplace that vaccinated chicks for mareks could infect the unvaccinated with it becuase of the vaccine

is that kind of live virus vaccine still used?
Do I need to be careful (ie not do it) adding hatchery chicks to my same age hatched from eggs chickies?
