Mixing young and Old

Hi there. I have 4 week old plymouth rocks and silkie chicks. They are in the coop and are separate from the older hens. Does anyone know at what age can we introduce everyone together? The other chickens are a mix of redx's and whitex's. One silkie adult as well. There are no roosters in the group.

Being as there are Silkies in the mix, I wouldn't try it prior to 10 weeks of age. When you do introduce them, be sure to do it at night to reduce stress and picking.

The silkies have grown up with the plymouth rocks and are pretty tough.

Maybe around chickens their own age. Any juvenile is going to be harassed by a mature bird and Silkies are twice as fragile as any standard breed.
