My modenas hatched a couple eggs a few days ago.

Here's the firstborn....

Yeah, there's 2. The one pictured was the first one, then the other hatched within a couple days.

What an everything, not just face...haha... They're so funny looking as babies.

Wow, what a change. Adorable

Ok, educate me - what does an adult Modena look like?

I know little about pigeons and doves. I do have a ringneck dove (found her in Feb. 99), she was sitting on my fence in a snow storm. I walked out, stuck my hand out to her like I would my parrots and she hopped onto my hand. She has lived with my cockatiel since. I do not even know how long they live.

The smaller of the two babies had fell out of the nest this morning and got beat up and skinned up by the chickens or whoever...

It's acting undaunted, but looks rough. Poor little booger.

These are the parent birds:

Well, modenas are really roly-poly. That's my description of them. lol

Yeah, I hope the one that fell out of the nest gets better.... He's not as well feathered as the other one yet, and with such thin skin, he's got some bad skin tears. Hopefully since they grow so quickly at this stage, he'll heal really quickly...... Here's to hoping anyways.

I recently got five pair of modenas. They are really pretty birds but I'm thinking on the dumb side!lol. I finally have two pairs on eggs. The others can't make up their minds who they want to be married to!lol.

Prince sandwich I have very similar in color to yours. It is my favorite ,although on the small side. I understand they are comming out with "toy" modenas so maybe he will fit into that catagory
