Hello! I am brand new to chicken keeping and had my first chicken coop built and delivered 2 days ago.

Upon delivery, I noticed what I believed to be mold. That evening, I had a closer look while the temps made it easier to be outside. I noticed moldy wood all throughout the run, inside and outside. Keep in mind, this was just built and delivered! Brand new.
I had the coop builder over, and he stated he wasn't sure it was mold, and that he purchased all the pressure treated wood from Lowes. He would ask Lowes if it was mold. He said if I was, he would have it cleaned.
I just feel so uneasy about this. It was BRAND NEW!
Soooo....
1) does this look like mold?
2) what remedy would you expect on a coop you spent $1800+ on?

This is a sampling of all the different areas mold was found.

I can't see any pictures but I would spray it down with a bleach solution and reexamine ventilation issues in the design.

I added pics.
It's in the run.
It's brand new, no time for ventilation issues to occur
Tons of ventilation anyway in the run.
It was built with moldy wood.

It looks like the pieces are on the exterior side of the coop. Is that correct? In that case they likely just got wet during storage and building and didn't dry out properly. Its actually not all that uncommon and is easily remedied. It happens more often than you would think, even on treated wood. Mold spores are everywhere.

It's mostly on the inside, but some on outside too.

I'm sorry, if you pay $1800 for a coop/run, it better not be covered in mold the day it's deliveted.

Agreed, that seems like a lack of proper care before delivery at best, or the seller's statement of origin is inacurate. However, if you live in a warm humid environment, it may have sprouted up almost overnight.

I had a custom rabbit hutch built while living in Dallas, TX, during a hot, humid summer. Not a stitch of mold. Not when it was delivered and not afterwards either.

I'm very allergic to molds. I don't live in the coop, lol, but it still upsets me to get a brand new, expensive item covered in mold.
