Has anyone else had this problem? How do I fix it? Sponges are so good at keeping the humidity up I really don't know what else to use.

Unpasturized Apple Cider Vinegar will kill the mold. I used it in my most recent hatch for that very reason (had mold on the wet sponges last time) and it worked like a charm. I mixed it into a spray bottle (1 tsp UP/ACV to about a cup of water) and spritzed it on the top of the wet sponges...that's it. You could even just mix a bit into the water and let teh sponges soak it up that way...however you want. It also keeps mold/mildew out of my fermented feed bin. :)
