Does this look like black mold to y’all?

it’s in the coop I’ve been working on and just noticed it today.

I thought it may be mold so I sprayed it dow with white detailed vinegar really good which is supposed to kill mold and mold spores in porous material such as wood. But there’s no texture to it nor was I able to scrap any of it off with my knife so it may just be a water stain on the wood?
Thoughts?

It doesnt look like mold to me.. just the natural aging of wood. Is it humid where the wood is? Maybe its breaking down a bit. I sometine rub linseed oil on exposed wood to weather proof it.

Thanks! Yes it’s been VERY humid lately. I live in central Arkansas and we’re known for having hot and humid summers at times.
Up until recently the coop, formerly a playhouse was not sealed or weatherproofed. I’ve been turning it into a coop and have managed to seal the cracks so hopefully there’ll be no water exposure on the inside.

I'm highly confident that is not mold.

Do one more thing; Take some H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) and spray it or wipe it on the darker stains and see if it come off after a few minutes. You can try bleach too.

My guess is that is the normal aging and staining of the wood cells...Cellulose and Lignin and maybe a few other things but my mind is getting slow and old!
