When i went out to replenish the chicken's feed and water, i noticed that mold has grown in a ring around the feeder(on ground). This attracts cockroaches and smells bad. is there anything that can be done about this?

Mixing vinegar and water and scrubbing the mold away will help. Just keep up with it and be a responsible chicken owner, cleaning it 1-2 times a week and you should be good!

Move the feeder. Put it in a container so that any feed that spills out lands in the outer container. I use fermented feed, so there is never any feed spilled in the first place.

Is the feeder sitting on the ground? If so, raise it up. Be sure that it is in a location where rain or mist can not land on it.

Alright then, i'll kill the mold with the vinegar solution and later put the feeder on a small tray thing to catch feed that falls.

Thanks!
