I don't intend to be rude but: Some fungi, including molds, are edible and delicious. Many fungi are used in fermentation processes (cheeses, soy sauce, etc). Many fungi and molds are HIGHLY TOXIC, as in deadly. Unless you have a very powerful microscope, and the ability to identify the spores of the fungi you plan to feed your chickens - don't do it. Re-read my prior post. Penicillin is useful - the mold it comes from is dangerous. Furthermore, another grain-feeding mold, ergot (look up "ergotism"), is deadly.
