I think this question is in the right place but if it isnt ill just delete it and try again .

I have a few questions regarding molting for chickens, mostly about early signs, care tips, and why it wouldn't be happening.

My chickens are almost a year old and quite honestly i though i would see them molt sooner. Im not worried right now since ive read that sometimes they will just skip molting but I want to be prepared to wake up one day and see all of my chickens with less feathers then i remember.

Chicks will have 2-3 molts before 6 months of age.
Adult chickens will have a full molt during their second fall/winter.
You'll likely see a lot of feathers around the coop and run.
They will stop laying before the feathers fall.
They might get a bit lazy/subdued for a few days.
There's not much for you to do.
Just continue a good feed regime.
I feed a 20% all flock all the time, with Oyster Shell in a separate feeder,
so I don't need to provide extra protein.
They stop eating the OS when they stop laying.
