Molting: Drake Feather Swap

Now this is odd.

My 2 Pekins are molting. I know he would temporarily lose his drake feather, but it looks like she found it!





Pearl (L) is the girl, and Ruby(R) is the boy.

My Runner girl Vier sprouted a drake feather after we introduced a drake into the flock. She's the one to stands up to him most directly and frequently. I think she became an honorary drake to protect them from him. Maybe . . . .ducks, go figure.
