I have a hen that is a little over a year, and she's not laying eggs, but definitely not brooding. I picked her up yesterday and when I set her down she lost a couple of feathers. Thing is, she looks completely normal. She's just shedding feathers all over the place. I can maybe post some pictures of her soon. Her name is Buttermilk.
