Molting & not laying eggs?

It isn't a hard molt but given her age, that's understandable. The dearth of eggs is likely due mostly to the time of year. Short days.

I'm in the same boat! My girls won't be 1 until February and 7 out of 8 are molting. We are only getting 1 egg a day. Our Black Copper Maran (who is a little older than the others) looks so pitiful it's kinda funny. They are all still very active, just losing a ton of feathers and not laying. We live in Hawaii. The days are shorter, but not by much, and our temps are still high 70's low 80's.
