the hens havnt been laying well this summer, we had been getting one egg a day from one hen (breed unknown) but now shes molting and has stopped laying completely. i know that hens stop laying during theyre molt, but is it possible that a molt could last all summer? or do you think its because the overwhelming heat, its not uncommon for it to get 100 degrees fahrenheit here. my two other laying hens have not layed at all this summer, but i think they molted at the begining of the summer.

My chickens have started molting too. They usually start molting when the days get shorter but not neccesarily. The molt can last a while so if you want them to get back in the swing of things, a night light for part of the night might help.
