I have a yearling peacock and a yearling peahen. They are in a large pen and seem to be doing well. But the peacock is losing his train. It seems a bit early for him to be molting. Should I be worried?

it depends a lot of your circumstances...prob. nothing to worry about.
A couple mine are starting to molt now but most won't for another few weeks.

My mature Java male is losing his train now...not unusual for him this time of year, their season starts and ends early.
Also...if a mature bird has been moved or otherwise disrupted greatly from his normal routine it could cause him to start the molt . But yeah, ksKingBee...it is a bit early for most to molt .

I know breeders in Tejas and in Florida that have no trains left on Greens or Blues, I have one high % cock with no train left and one Peach that has dropped about 1/3 of his train but all the rest have full trains and still going strong. Egg production is dropping and I think the end is near, very near. @barkerg
