MOLTING ?

Also I only have the two Roos, no hens, so I think I won’t need to give any extra calcium?
Nope, they do not need the extra calcium.

I have scratch too, I was thinking that the first cool mornings they’d get some warmth from the corn ‘fat’, but perhaps scratch would give the same boost and also contain some protein.
It's more of a treat...won't keep them any warmer than the regular feed.
Corn is not fat, it's carbs.
But if your scratch grains have Black Oil Sunflower seeds, they are fatty.

Thanks again! You are giving me great information, I tried reading the book but of course it doesn’t address bachelor flocks

What book?
I know of no book that covers everything.....
....and many of them have outdated or not so great info.
Lol of course, sorry! I think it’s from MyPetChicken, it’s an all-around basics .
I did find that my local TractorSupply store, like others have said, had All Flock but in crumbles only. Then I founded a kind by Nutrena, again crumbles, but even better numbers prot/calc and was a bit less expensive. Unfortunately ordering the Purina pellets is really exhorbitant for shipping, I’m going to look around locally as we have one or two small specialty farm&feed stores still surviving! I really should support them also, but since cases are spiking here again I am out of work Again, caring for vulnerable family.
thanks again for your wisdom and help!
