It's more of a treat...won't keep them any warmer than the regular feed.I have scratch too, I was thinking that the first cool mornings they’d get some warmth from the corn ‘fat’, but perhaps scratch would give the same boost and also contain some protein.
Corn is not fat, it's carbs.
But if your scratch grains have Black Oil Sunflower seeds, they are fatty.
