Molting

Hello. I'm worried because I recently lost my 1st hen. She went through a very hard molt. Lost everything, bald. Then grew back all beautiful amazing feathers. Then passed away. I started noticing her depressed and set off, then 2 days later gone. Now I'm worried about my other hens and what to do if they go through a hard molt as well. Just seemed to take it all out of her

What's the feed? Any other symptoms?

I've never heard of losing all feathers. Sorry for your loss. A normal molt is 10-30% of feathers with some of the hardest being up to 50% loss. Frizzle breed chickens seem to consistently have the most extreme molts.

The main thing you can do to help them is to insure that they are getting extra protein and that they aren't under too much stress from extreme cold weather. Where are you located? What are you feeding them?
