I have a swedish/ pekin hen sitting on 6 hens in the last stages of incubation. Yesterday morning I noted two had pipped externally. The hen keeps getting off the nest to forage though, several times a day - not for more than 10-15 mins but my chickens stuck like glue to their nests in the "lockdown" period. This morning those 2 eggs have made no progress. Should I be worried? Assist? Move them to an incubator? Sit on my hands? I know ducks are notoriously slow hatchers and I can see beak movement and hear chirping...but this is driving me nuts. Luckily it's been warm and rainy these last 2 days so the ambient humidity is plenty high...advice? Thank you!
