I have (10) 4-5wk old pullets in a brooder box and a broody hen sitting on 12 eggs in a maternity coop...
My question-
What are the chances that everyone can live in a coop and be one big happy family after the chicks hatch? I’m going on vacation next month and would like to make things easy on my dog/cat/chicken/goat sitter.
And if it’s a possible Brady Bunch situation, how do I go about transitioning everyone into the coop? The broody hen and pullets haven’t met yet. Should I put everyone in the coop before the eggs hatch?? Coop (with run) is 10x6 and will only house the hen, her chicks and pullets. (I’m not keeping everyone, having my hen raise some chicks for a friend)
Chicks will be a week old and pullets will be 8-9wks old when we leave for vacation.
Thanks in advance!!
