I have tried several times to hatch my Old English Game Fowl eggs in the incubator. I left the eggs where they lay them and after three or four days one hen went broody. She hatched 7 chicks day before yesterday. She seems to be a very good momma. She has been keeping them under her wing and gets between me and them if I get too close.

Very cool...

I just hatched some under a broody for the first time too. It is an awesome experience. I never new my docile silkie would be so protective. YIKES. Congrats.

I just put 3 partridge cochin eggs under Henrietta, my BO. She has hatched 2 so far.
Funny thing is, Isabelle, my Lt Brahma, has gone broody also. I went up to check on the hatchings, and Isabelle had her head underneath Henrietta. Here Henrietta had stolen Isabelle's only egg

I have a bantam ehn that is my best broody. Right now she has 14 chicks and 2 turkeys under her. She has also hatched quail, ducks a guineas. I don't know what I would do without her. She will even take other hens chicks and raise them, she is the best momma ever.
