I gave my hubby a wonderful surprise gift, two incubators, a bunch of quail eggs, a coop and a trip to the 'Tractor Store' to buy supplies. His deceased father always kept birds and was one his special memories he always recalls. Now he can share it with his kids. (But guess who's off the wall excited...more than him....ME).

Extra room in incubator meant my son could try his chicken/duck refridgerated egg experiment. Glad the 13 year old is doing something beside xbox. Unfortunately I can't have a large chicken coup, but we are discussing keeping one as a housepet if it hatches.

So yay! Thats us in a nutshell....Two kids, Three dogs, five cats, and a taruntula....and now waiting on the newborns.

Love the idea that you are involving the kids in poultry keeping - lots of lessons to be learned. Good luck to you and enjoy your flock!
