Re. the question as to who laid it. We have 10 girls in lay.
But Fr. Martin (our 80 yr. old who comes from farm life in VT) unintentionally offered a way to identify her, when I showed him the egg. He said, "Wow, that girls gonna be needin' to use a CANE for a little while!!"
I got a kick outta that!
So maybe if I look a little harder for a little cane leaning in a corner of the cage, I might be able to find who stashed it there. I don't see anyone using a cane now, but maybe I just missed her!! Remember, Fr. Martin's an old farm boy, so he must know what he's talkin' about!!!
Re. the fertility.
It very well could be, but it most likely has three or four yolks in it--been the pattern so far with our whoppers...............Even if we were to try and hatch it, it would very likely fail.............
Enjoy the fun folks!
