Chirping
This is our chicken coop. So far, no complaints from the neighbors, except one who wants to hear the roosters crow in the AM!
This is the 'baby' pen for new hatches or purchases. Inside the coop, we have a 2'X2'X8" run for the youngest, and it leads to the outside by a door in the lower front - keeps the babies separate from the Broilers. Posies grow slow in our neck of the woods, so the planters aren't in bloom yet!
Just below the nesting box is the door for the larger chickens. Right now the Broilers are using that space, but in less than a month, they will be in the freezer, and the hens will have the main pen with the nesting box. Hopefully, we timed it just about right for the hens to be moved in, and the broilers to be 'installed' into the freezer section!
We have two other pens - (soon to be three) - 1.) where our hens currently are housed, 2.)where our roosters are housed, and 3.)where we'll be separating the roosters in their own runs for breeding & to avoid fighting, amongst themselves etc..
