Help!
Two of my one month old banties (from the same local breeder, one Polish one Silkie) have not grown an ounce since I brought them home. They are loosing their down and growing feathers but have not gained any weight (yes I started weighing them).
I have done things to reduce stress (close monitoring of temperature to make sure its consistent and not too warm not too cold always between 75-80 f (under heating source) with heating lamps on one side of the brooder and no heating lamps on the other. Food and water are offered at both ends, I'm using a red light source for heat, offering protein rich foods like boiled egg, fresh water always available as well as chick feed).
The banties just wont get any bigger! There counterparts (who are only a few days older) have tripled in size (party because they are giant cochins).
Will they always be the size of a golf ball (only with feathers)??
HELP! Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated.
